What to Expect at Your Initial Consultation
When we first meet, we will collect your medical, psychiatric and family history, sleep related concerns and any other pertinent details. They will then review your completed questionnaire, which provides us with supplementary information on your sleep habits as well as on the nature and severity of your sleep and daytime problems.
This first meeting is very important for both of us, and we would like you to share your sleep problems and concerns with us and to get answers for your questions. We will talk about your sleep and sleep difficulties (symptoms), including your sleep schedule, your sleep environment, the onset of your sleep problem and how it may have changed over time. We may also request an objective evaluation of your sleep, such as a in-lab sleep study, before a diagnosis can be made. Together, all of these details will help us make a diagnosis and determine the best therapy for you.
Please set aside at least 1 hour of your time for your full assessment to be completed.
